Roanoke Rescue Mission
Have you ever been homeless? Known someone who has? Here's a testimony from one of our members:
"Right after I first started attending Valley Word, I made a series of really poor choices. Choices dealing with my job and finances. In October of 2001 My children, newborn granddaughter, and I ended up being evicted from our duplex, and became homeless. For 3 1/2 months we lived at one of the area homeless shelters, then my son and his wife were able to get into a rental house. everyone moved in with them, but due to another family issue (my ex-husband) I decided that I could not stay at my son's place. For the next 1 1/2 months I lived in my car. If it hadn't been for the spiritual and emotional support of our leadership here, I don't know if I would have made it through that tough time as well as I did. My Pastors helped me so much in keeping my faith strong. And almost no one in the congregation knew that I was homeless. I'm so glad that God surrounded me with Godly men and women to come alongside me and hold up my spiritual arms as I came through that season. My whole life has been turned around, and that period of time seems like a distant dream now. Thank God for Valley Word and the people of God who showed me His Love!" ˜ Sandi ˜
